Couldn’t get any kids to spend much time making these, but I sure thought it was fun.

Today is Martinmaas and you’re supposed to celebrate with a lantern walk.  I’m sure there’s also some feast food you’re supposed to make to go along with it, but I haven’t researched that part enough yet.  Ice cream is always a good feast food, don’t you think?  Or chocolate.

I always end up hungry when I read you blog. Sorry about your camera. I think one like Ellen’s would be nice.

  2. Ah. This makes me miss Memphis. Memphis Unschoolers did a Martinmaas Lantern Walk around a lake in the dusky dark every year, with children carrying every version of homemade lantern. Reflections of the flames in the dark lake, children chatting and skipping and singing, lanterns swaying. Not to be missed. We have our lantern, still.
