Michael’s Cake March 1, 2011

This is the birthday cake that my Mom would bake for my oldest brother every year for his birthday.  All of us kids would sneakily run our fingers through the frosting each time we walked by that cake.  Every year on March 1st, I bake Michael’s birthday cake.  We all still sneak tastes of the frosting.

By the way, the cake is an angel food cake, frosted with a citrus buttercream frosting.  Nothing fancy, but full of memories.

Just looking at the picture brings that taste back to my mouth!! I can see the multitudes of little finger swooshes thru that icing! That is the world’s best icing!!
